Can you believe fall is upon us and the kids are back in school? You can feel the crisp cool air against your skin. The colors are starting to change here in the mountains of Colorado. How about where you are?
Well that brings us to the September Art With Heart Challenge!
Fall Back!
My fall back project is going to be a fall fabric flower using Eileen's FABULOUS flower die!
Eileen Hull/Sizzix Flowers, 3-D #2.
Actually it is a tutorial, that so many asked for in our blog hop with Stencil Girl!
So many comments were made and many asked if I had a tutorial on how to make this fabulous flower. So I decided to do this tutorial for you this month using fall fabric!
This is the flower that started it all!
You can see it HERE!
1st you will need Eileen's flower die Flowers, 3-D #2.
Then you will tape off the two areas as shown.
You will cut your fabric to approximately 4 1/2 inches square.
Fold in half.
Fold in half again.
Now you have a small square.
You will place that square on the flower die and line it up with the tape lines
Now cut.
I cut ten per flower.
Here they are all cut and ready to go.
Start with one flat flower as a base.
Then add one folded flower and stitch it to the base.
Add another folded flower.
As you add the flowers, add them next to each other as shown in picture.
I use 9 folded flowers and once I have all 9 stitched on, somewhat evenly around
I add 4-5 centers onto the flower.
Get the flower all wet.Wring it out and let dry.
You can throw it in the dryer or use a hair dryer to start the drying process.
All dry and ready to bloom!
Open each of the folded flowers, until all are open
Now you have a gorgeous flower to do what ever you would like to do!
Hair clip, wreath, garland, page decorations, let you mind soar!
Great thing about this flower is you can change out your fabric and make flowers for any season or holiday!
Now we challenge you to make something for the
Link your project to the
and be our next winner!
Thanks for stopping by!
