How Many Days Till Christmas?

I don't want to know, do you?

But I did make this cute little countdown till Christmas piece.

One of my thrift store finds. Remember these old pull toys? I think they used to be filled with blocks.
Well I found this one for less then a buck!
When I found it I did not know what I would do with it, but I knew I could do something with it!

So when CHA (Craft and Hobby Association) approached and I needed to do some samples for Cosmo Cricket, I dug this out of my stash.

With the new Christmas line called Jolly Days from Cosmo Cricket I thought I could do some kind of Christmas decor. So this is what I did........................................
So Easy and fast! Cut papers to size add a Ready Set Chip snowman and some tim Holtz letters and a blackboard painted block, hang a piece of chalk off of the wheel and you have a countdown calender. I think I am going to add some more Ready Set Chip figures to this now that I have more to add. You can hang this piece or leave it where the kids can help you change the days.

Have a great & safe Holiday weekend!

Week 4-Chapter 18: Now you see him......now you don't!

Do you play croquet with the Queen to-day?'`I should like it very much,' said Alice, `but I haven't been invited yet.`You'll see me there,' said the Cat, and vanished.Alice was not much surprised at this, she was getting so used to queer things happening. While she was looking at the place where it had been, it suddenly appeared again.--
Chapter 6, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Just like the Cheshire Cat, we would like you to make a card where things appear and disappear! It could be as simple as a tag in a pocket or something more interactive and fun, for example a wiper card, a slider box or a slider card or even a double slider card, a telescoping card, a T-slide card, a swing (flip-flop) card, or a ViewMaster card. These tutorials from Splitcoaststampers are for inspiration; your project does not need to be a card and the hidden element does not need to be a cat. Enter by August 24 , and the winner will receive three digi stamps from our sponsor!

Our sponsor this month is Dilly Beans, featuring the whimsical art of Megan Suarez, famous for her charming big-eyed girls! You can see the digi stamps and collage sheets on her blog, Dilly Beans Stamps. There is also a Dilly Beans design team challenge blog and an Etsy shop with Megan's artwork to inspire you. Dilly Beans offers four Alice-related digi stamps: Alice in Wonderland, the Queen of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat and some whimsical mushrooms; the design team will be featuring the first three.

Here is my take of Now you see him...Now you don't....
Alice is adorable with those great BIG eyes!

This is a pretty big card! I really loved the image and wanted to have fun coloring....So Alice is just about 8". I used colored pencils, chalk pencils, soft pastel to make this mixed media piece. I had the most fun coloring it.
I cut her out and placed her on the background piece of paper. I had to cut off some of the details of her dress and hair, so I decided to draw them on and used a micron marker. No hair loss!

Here is a close up of her face.
She is so SWEET!
Let's see who is going to slide out?
It is that silly Cheshire Cat!
Here is is close up!
I hope you enjoyed my take on Now you see him...Now you don't! I had a lot of fun with him!

Sharing Christmas Shadow Box-Cosmo Cricket Style

That's right.....it is not even Halloween yet and I have worked on some Christmas items. Mind you this is very hard to do when it is 100 degrees outside! Horrible! It's funny my friends and family from Minnesota all say "oh but it is a dry heat that's not so bad". Okay? Well to me 100 is still 100!

Anyway here is my sample I did for Cosmo Cricket. It is a shadow box made with the new Christmas line, it is called "JOLLY DAYS".

You can see the full line here. This line even has Ready set Chips and Stickers ANDDDD......Stamps!
This line was voted as Susan Opal of Papercrafts favorite Christmas line at CHA.  Read about it here.

That Elf is so cute! He is in checking to make sure Santa's suit is ready to GO! I used a stamp from "too much fun rubberstamps".  Cut it all out then made the shadow box into what I think Santa's closet would look like. I used tim holtz Hinges and hangers to hang the suit. Of course had to use some Stickles from Ranger to complete Sants' suit.

Here is another picture

This Elf is so stinking CUTE!

More Samples!

I am going to share a couple more samples I made for Cosmo Cricket/Advantus.

A few cute cards.

Again I used the S'More Love line. If you loved Mr. Campy.....you will LOVE S'More Love!

As I mentioned before Cosmo Cricket has Stamps that goes with the paper. This makes it so easy to make those scrapbook layouts or cards. No more hunting for the perfect stamp. Nope, you can get the paper and the stamps and have at it!

I just love the new Elements-Canvas wrapped Brads in Natural & Black.

Here is the next card........this is how I feel today!

You could send this for anything....birthday, hello, thank you....anything.

I have a few more samples to share and I will do that soon!

Thanks for stopping by!
