Day 4
Today is MY day to share!
Welcome! This is a long post, so go grab a cup of coffee, tea or soda and enjoy!
But first, I want to say Thank you to Eileen Hull, Stencil Girl and Craffiti for having this wonderful blog hop! I am honored to be a part of such a talented group of Artists!
I came across this cute bag on clearance and thought I could make a one of a kind Art on the Go bag!
I used Seth Apter's awesome stencils from Stencil Girl!
From Eileen's collection from Sizzix's I used the Flowers, 3D #2 die
I used Wendy Vecchi Archival inks. I asked Wendy if her inks worked on fabric and I was so excited she said "YES"!
I made my flower using Eileen Hull's Sizzix die, Flowers, 3D #2.
Using several cuts from muslin, I stitched them together and then applied ink to some of the petals. I immersed the whole flower into water and scrunched out the water and let dry overnight. once dry, I fluffed it up and stitched it to the bag. ↓
I wanted areas to have a torn or tattered look, so I stenciled onto random pieces of muslin and attached.
Here is another attached stenciled piece.
I stamped my "Barn Wood" image from Craffiti onto a separate piece of fabric. Then I stenciled over the top of it with my Stencil Girl stencil. Using Wendy's inks, I wanted to make a pocket to put pens or pencils in, or maybe my cell phone.
I then stitched it onto the bag to make my pocket. ↓
I continued to stencil all over my bag.
