Chapter 22:Christmas-tide in Wonderland!

From a Fairy to a Child
LADY dear, if Fairies may For a moment lay aside Cunning tricks and elfish play, 'Tis at happy Christmas-tide.
We have heard the children say -Gentle children, whom we love -Long ago, on Christmas Day, Came a message from above.
Still, as Christmas-tide comes round,They remember it again -Echo still the joyful sound, 'Peace on earth, good-will to men.'
Yet the hearts must child-like be Where such heavenly guests abide. Unto children, in their glee, All the year is Christmas-tide.
Thus, forgetting tricks and play For a moment, Lady dear,We would wish you, if we may, Merry Christmas, glad New Year.
-- Lewis Carroll, Christmas, 1887.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from The Altered Alice! This month the design team brings you their holiday wishes, and we invite you to send your holiday greetings or share a special project with The Altered Alice and to our other readers.

We do not have a sponsor this month, so we are just sharing for the joy of Christmas in Wonderland, and we hope that you will share too. We will have honorable mentions, so play along for the glory if not a prize!

To celebrate the season, we bring you The Lewis Carroll Memorial Window at Daniell Chapel in England. Notice the left panel where Lewis Carroll and Alice kneel to pay homage to the newly born Christ in this wonderful Nativity scene! This month's quote is actually contained within the windows, do you see it?

The window, designed by the stained glass artist Geoffrey Webb, is a must-see for anyone who loves Wonderland. A wonderful Christmas poem by Lewis Carroll is shown in the center three bottom panels, which include characters from Wonderland - the White Rabbit, Dodo, the Caterpillar, Mad Hatter, and more! Our own Sue Roddis visited this chapel and gave me permission to show her close-up photos here, click to enlarge:

Friend, Ornament, New Tool and a Thank You!

I have been busy, really I have!

Since I posted last I have been to Minnesota,Vail Colorado, Minnesota, back to Bennett Colorado and again going to Vail Colorado. Boy am I tired.

But I have been doing some crafting!

These are a couple of ornaments made of Cosmo Cricket papers.

This first one is a stocking cut from my Cricket. I cut two of each of the pieces so that I could sew them together. These would be great for children to do if you cut them larger and punch holes around the outside, the child could then stitch it together with yarn or shoelaces. I lightly stuffed these with tissue paper. After being stitched together I added mica glitter flakes.
I cut two trees and stitched them together and added a Maya Road star to the top of the tree. I also added silver studs and punched circles.

Everyone is talking about making Christmas cards, but don't forget about those
Thank you cards!

How about one like this?
I love the way this turn out!
Just using some of Cosmo Cricket Jolly Days paper and a tag from the Element deck you could have one of these ready in minutes.
I am dedicating this card to a long lost friend I found not to long ago. She was the first scrapbook teacher I ever had. It was at CKU! I had never gone to a crop, class or anything related to scrapbooking and I went to CKU......what was I thinking?

Any way I THANK YOU Kim and I enjoyed seeing you and bringing you a Vented Pumpkin Latte thingy!

And if it were not for her......I would have never ever got one of these Epiphany Craft Shape Studio that made the cute embellishment on my thank you card. I am in love with this tool! I bought another already and I see more in my future! If you have never tried one you should, they are AWESOME!
