CHAPTER 27: What a Wonderful Dream it Has Been!

CHAPTER 27: What a Wonderful Dream it Has Been!

"`Who cares for you?' said Alice, (she had grown to her full size by this time.) `You're nothing but a pack of cards!'
At this the whole pack rose up into the air, and came flying down upon her: she gave a little scream, half of fright and half of anger, and tried to beat them off, and found herself lying on the bank, with her head in the lap of her sister, who was gently brushing away some dead leaves that had fluttered down from the trees upon her face.
`Wake up, Alice dear!' said her sister; `Why, what a long sleep you've had!'
`Oh, I've had such a curious dream!' said Alice, and she told her sister, as well as she could remember them, all these strange Adventures of hers that you have just been reading about; and when she had finished, her sister kissed her, and said, `It WAS a curious dream, dear, certainly: but now run in to your tea; it's getting late.' So Alice got up and ran off, thinking while she ran, as well she might, what a wonderful dream it had been."
-- Chapter 12, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Chapter 27 will be the last regularly scheduled challenge on The Altered Alice. Due to pressures of work, health, and family activities, Lynne is not able to keep up with running the challenges any longer. We will continue to have Alice posts and Linky tools so you can show us your Alice and perhaps some blog candy now and then, but it will not be in formal challenges. Please continue to subscribe and to share your Alice artwork!

Just as our very first challenge was sponsored by Stampotique Originals, we are ending with a Stampotique challlenge! They are offering a $30 gift certificate for one lucky winner, and their design team is going to play along! Be sure to visit their Stampotique Designer's Challenge blog where you can play every week! There is something to please everyone at Stampotique Originals! I like the symmetry of ending as we began.

Anything goes, so show us your best! We will begin on Mother's day, May 12 and end on Father's Day, June 16. Your last day to submit projects will be Friday, June 14. Multiple entries are encouraged but each must be on a separate post. For our last challenge, only Wonderland projects are allowed!

For my last project I thought I would leave with this sentiment:
Enjoy today, live for tomorrow and dream for the future.

I made this sweet little Mixed Media piece. Covered it in different papers and painted, stamped, doodle, and more paint, then stamped the sentiment and rabbit.

Both stamps are from Stampotique artist Maria Sabina Raita. The sentiment is Enjoy today and the rabbit is You give me wings.

Make sure you visit the other designers and Stampotiqe designers are also playing along, so make sure you visit them also.

I have made 3 Father's day cards.

One of them has a special place in my heart.

I have re-made it, but it was from 2005. I made it for my Dad and he loved it.
So I thought I would share it with you!

The third card is a card that you can have the kids get involved in making. I love when the kids craft and Glue Dots® makes that so easy to do!

I have never used Buttons Galore but I sure love the variety, color and amount of buttons you  receive.

Gorgeous colors!

All papers used are from Basic Grey!

So lets get to some pictures shall we?

sTEAMpUnk dREsS fOrM-Somerset Studio May/June

I am so honored and excited to have been selected to be published in the May/June

 Somerset Studio Magazine!
Page 44

Yes I am!

Often wonder where the artist gets inspiration from?
I do!

This is where I got mine!
Yep, this rusty piece of junk!

I thought, I died and went to heaven! Really, I did!

the story is told in the article and I don't want to
give it away, so I will leave it to your imagination.
In the meantime, I will take you through my mind process.

See big rusty thing........think need knobs!

Wish I could get this kind of makeover!

From that  to this!

I wish!

Somerset Studio took this beautiful photo!
Shows the dress form in it's true glory.

Yes, this is how my mind works.

Take a box, junk, drills, adhesives and plenty of idea-ology and Ranger products and toss it around on my table until it no longer looks tossed in my head.

A beautiful mess!

I told you a mess, this is how I design.
Drives my husband NUTS!
As I go along, I might see something and think it may be cool, then try it.
Sometimes things just don't work out.
THEN..........
Times when they just do!
                       Check out those picture corners!
I loved them the minute they went on!
I had no idea at the time, but I tried them on and it just (they) fit!
No measuring!

This picture shows the process up till the box.
Did you see her shoulder? It is a idea-ology foundation.
Suppose to be on the bottom of a box or something like that?
NaH!  Great shoulder!

Close up
Theses are the pictures that I took.

By the way, this is a night light!
I added a light kit to the back so that it would light up.
You can see it in the photo that Somerset Studio took.

I hope you enjoyed my journey through my mind and thought process.

Thank you to Somerset Studio for letting me share with the world!

I used tim holtz's idea-ology line, pieces off of the time machine, found box and metals, pipes from my dad's stuff. Distress inks.

Have a great week!

It's been A while

So many things have been going on.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Some bad!

Some Good!

Some really GOOD!

Husband has done his raditation and has been scanned. However we are still waiting for results, cancer gone or? (Bad)

I must be holding in more stress then I thought, I had a recent trip to the hospital and need to really watch my stress levels. Seems to be attacking my body in diverse ways. My Fibromyalgia has been trying to tell me. But we never listen to our bodies. New meds are starting to work and I am feeling better! (good)

We are pretty selltled in to our new home! (good)
This has been quite a job! (Yuck)

I think the only room not really done and probly will never be is.........my studio! (oh well)

It will forever always be a mess.....any good orginizers out there?

Some good news is I have been published in Haute Handbags!
Fun and different!

I am also published in the new Somerset Studio May/June. I have yet to see this one yet. I can not wait. It is one of my famous Dress Forms. (Really Good)

Some of my dress forms. Not the one published, I will save that one until I see it.

More on that as soon as I get a copy!

Do you have a Hobby Lobby in your town? Do you ever pick up the Stamping*Stationary and Scrapbooking magazine they put out? Well I was included in the Glue Dots ad. I have two projects with instructions in the magizine. (Really Good)

So I have been busy and hoping to get blogging much more!

I have some deadlines for projects due on the 1st and some things I am working on for magazines. The bad part about those is you can not share until they have been published.

I will be included in a blog hop shortley so stay tuned for that.

Until next time...........

Enjoy every day!

Tattered Florals

What could bring me out of the mound of boxes and do something?

Well a challenge!

A tattered floral challenge....................

You see that tim holtz had to go and have this challenge right in the middle of moving or shall I say unpacking?

Really?
Does he know all of my stuff is half in boxes...?

Dig, dig deeper and deeper until I found my stuff and I started.

Everyone has done such an amazing job, I don't know why I am bothering....but, I had to try!

Huge, Huge, HUGE prize involved!

So here goes.......oh, you know I had to rust it up and make it Halloween! Yes even though it is spring!
A little closer view
Is he afraid of the flower of the ghost in the flower?
Love my rusted tree
Check out his body....this was made using electrical tape and put on chipboard and then embossed with one of tim's folders. Well not tim's, it's mine. He made it though. LOL!
I cut off part of it and used it at the bottem of the canvas
Here is a close up of a rusty floral.
I use metal mesh, electrical tape, chipboard, and Ten Second Studios
Ver-day paint-iron. Most important....I used the tattered floral die, by tim holtz.

I hope you enjoyed my entry.

Good luck everyone!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!

I wanted to share this cute little teddy bear I did using Cosmo Cricket " Sweet Disposition"

Just to let you know.....I have been away from my blog. Well I guess you know that....Reason...We are in the process of moving. My hubby went back to Minnesota to get all of our stuff and we are headed to the mountains to our new home. Well new to us!

I have been busy trying to get some business finished, articles written, art done and out the door before packing my studio up. What fun this will be. I have 5 days to do this. Rick will be back on Monday to pick up the stuff here and up to the Rocky Mountain we will climb.

This will be a new journey for us. We are excited to get settled in. It is newly painted and just waiting for us to move our stuff in and make it home. I will have to re-learn to cook and bake as we will be at 7100 ft. That in itself should be fun!

So if you do not see much of me it is because I am unpacking and decorating our home!

Then getting my studio arranged and decorated for the most inspiration possible!

Thanks for hanging in there with me!
