Handmade invites

When was the last time you made your own invitations?

With the invention of online events, digital invites or a simple text message “come to our party,” the art of the invite has been put on the back burner and we think that is just a shame.  Your invitation is the introduction to your event and sets the tone and and can be as elaborate or simple as you would like.

Like a scrapbook page or handmade card you can use the same supplies, tools and techniques to create your invitations, allowing you to show off your personal style.  Invites are traditionally created in multiples and taking advantage of the wide range of scrapbooking and crafting tools allows making many that look alike nice and easy, but don’t be afraid to get more elaborate.  The nice part about making your own invitations is the choice is yours.

The anatomy of a good invite includes a great front presentation, information about the event and a way to contact you with questions or to RSVP.  It is that simple.  So creating a custom invite to coordinate with you event is just what the doctor ordered.

Something New to try!

I was lucky enough to get some of these Sandits in the mail. I do Creative Paperclay work and also work with paper. I can tell you I am thoroughly impressed with the job these Sandits have done!

I have used them on paper and on Creative Paperclay and they have over exceeded my expectations!

The Sandits have two sides per stick and come in various grits.

They fit into small places and hard to reach areas.

If you ever have a chance to try them, no doubt you should!

 See the star on this card? I place the paper over the chipboard and had to try and get it as close to the chipboard to make it look clean. I cut as close to the chipboard as I could and then I used the Sandits to get it to look like it was made with the paper on it.

 On this small vase I used the Sandits to get into the small, curved areas. It was great to be able
to get into those hard to reach areas and have a nice clean finish.

It's A Baby Shower!

Welcome Leo!

Anna-Karin is a very special member of the Eileen Hull Inspiration Team. Last year there were a lot of changes in her life, including a move from one continent to another and just a few months later, a new baby! Leo arrived weeks ahead of schedule (and just 20 minutes after reaching the hospital!) but thankfully he and Anna-Karin are both doing well. 

We want to show Anna-Karin how special she is to us, so we are giving her a virtual baby shower today to celebrate Leo's birth! Even though we can't be with her, we send our love and a special crafty surprise. We invite you to visit each team member/shower guest's blog to see what they created for this new little guy.

I didn't have any little boy stamps....so I put my drawing cap on and went to work drawing a romper made just for Leo! I then colored it with colored pencils, I now had my image for my card! Has his name on it and a tag with love. 

I used Eileen's NEW Passport Book die to make Leo a little photo album.

 I added a flip page with his name

Random Love

Random Love!

Hi All!

Bet you thought I was lost forever!

First Christmas, I was off to CHA next, came home for 5 days and off to Minnesota to see family and now I am home and ready to start the new year! I know it's February! But I have to start somewhere! LOL! 

First I have been holding out on you! 

Yes, its true! I have had a secret............!

I am now a member of a new DT! Canvas Corp Brands has asked me to be a Crew Member!

I was am so excited!

Our first mission was to create a card and envelope for Valentines day and send or give it to someone who is not expecting it. So What I choose to do is............................

Not send it to anyone, but drop it in a random place for someone to find it!

This is why I call it Random Love!

This world needs more LOVE! The headlines have been horrible and if just one person sends some Random Love and then that person gives a smile to someone and then that person buys someone a coffee....so on and so on. This one piece could effect more then just one! Wouldn't that be great?

So if you live in Colorado, you just might see this laying around waiting to be found!

Materials used:

Canvas Corp Black & Kraft Ribbon Stripe

Canvas Corp Kraft Envelope and Card

Sewing Machine 

Black thread

Stencil

Red Acrylic paint

Glue Dots® Glue Lines

Simple to put together

Cut Canvas Corp Black & Kraft Ribbon paper to fit just inside of card

Cut a piece of Kraft paper to fit onto the Black & Kraft paper

Stitch the word love onto the Kraft paper

Cut out heart freehand and stitch heart and scraps onto Kraft paper as shown

Stitch Kraft paper onto Black & Kraft Ribbon paper

Add paint with stencil (optional)

Adhere to card using Glue Dots® Glue Lines
