Eileen Hull Inspiration Team - April Showers bring May Flowers

3D Canning Jar Vase?

This is a fun little vase you could give as a thank you gift, birthday gift or just keep for yourself!

I started with Eileen Hull's Canning Jar 3D die.

I cut my Jars out of chipboard.
I  colored my jars and lids with colored pencils.
Then I blended them with Gamasol.
Here is Jar and Lid colored and blended.
Shaded to give the appearance of water in the jar.
Here is the jar with a bit more shading and I added the shading of the word Ball on the jar. I did this very lightly as I wanted it to be seen, but not the focus.

I then adhered all the pieces together and this is what I came up with!
I love how it turned out!
I had a very small glass that I used to put the flowers in.
Like a shot glass, but not. I think I saved it from some embellishments.

My May Tim Holtz Tag

I am way early doing my Tim Holtz May tag!

You can go to see Tim's tag HERE!

Normally I am more mid month, had some time yesterday after we took a drive thru the mountains. Some of the roads that are closed for the winter opened and we deciced to go for a drive to see what we could see! We did spot some deer and lots of little chipmunks, some beautiful birds. It was a wonderful day, with temps in the 70's and a gentle breeze.

Back to business........................

I started with the Size #10 manila tag. This is going to be bigger then Tim's tag.

I could not find my Rusty Hinge Distress ink...it was hiding, so here sat my Wendy Vecchi Archival ink Orange Blossom. So guess what...I used it! I use a wash rag to apply it, It is all about using what is on my desk at the time. (I did find my Rusty Hinge...image that, it was right where it was suppose to be!)

I actually did most of my prep before I did my background. I work backwards sometimes.
Here is how I laid it out on my tag before inking my tag. Of couse I used Tim's paper. I used Tim's 8 X 8 Paper Stash Menagerie.
As you can see I do not have the "beautiful shadow press" So I used what I had and I beleive it looks great!
I shoud have taken more pictures of the process but....it was dark and the pictures would not have been that pretty. I did add some Spritz's from the Distress Marker Spritzer. I really liked how that added to the tag!

Here is the finished tag and I love it!
Just some close ups!
You can really see the spritz here

I love this stamp! It is my favorite and that is why I used the large tag, just so I could use this stamp! I found my feather and knew I wanted to use it also. The feather is from a Magpie. This tag is all about nature! I am super in love with this tag! Maybe I should do all my tags large.

What do thay say? Go BIG or go home!

Thanks for stopping.

My Tim Holtz April 2014 Tag/Tags

My tag for April 2014 ~ I should say my two tags for April 2014!

I have been off to Minnesota and back again since my last post. I did try to post from MN, however my Ipad was not cooperating with me! I hate that!

While I was visiting I received an awful bug and I am still fighting it. I did not get to see all the friends I wanted to see. Which made me sad. Then on top of that I ended up leaving the day before Junk Bonanza.....that was poor planning!

Anyway on to better things.....

I made two tags for this month. I enjoyed each, as I changed it up just a little.

You can see Tim's tutorial here

Here is my first tag.......I used a different frameworks then Tim, but it is all good!
You see when I went to go get the one Tim used my friend Kris bought the last one! (How could she!)
She did, so I improvised!

I also wanted to make this a birthday tag....I added some of Tim's rub ons and some chit chat stickers. I then used the Distress Market Spritzer (say that 10 times fast) I spritz it here and there and a little on the flowers. Really like the way my tag turned out!
You can see a little bit of the spritz here ↓

My next tag is just about the same as Tim's, just different colors and I added two of the mirrors because I liked the way they looked!
Here the two are side by side! I can tell you one thing.....I am going to be using these frameworks a lot!
Be back soon to share a scrapbook shop I visit in Minnesota!

Wendy Vecchi's Embossing Paste Easter Bunny!

You know how you read "Try something new, you can do it"?

Okay, so I did!

I had an idea, the very first time I had seen Wendy Vecchi's Embossing Crackle Paste!
My idea was to create a bunny and crackle him, you know like the vintage one's!

So......I had to make a bunny? I don't know how to make a bunny...........
I went and bought some Creative Paperclay. The reason I choose this is, it does not need to go in the oven to dry, it air dries!

So I went looking at various sites about molding stuff and I found out you can make a wire form or a tin foil form or even use Styrofoam balls. I used the tin foil, because that is what I had on hand. So I started to shape it into what I thought it should look like. Then I covered it with the clay.

Not even near perfect, but I liked him.
He slightly leans to the side and his one ear is a bit smaller.
But I fell in love with my quirky little guy.

Now I tried and tried to win the FAMOUS Wendy Vecchi's Embossing Pastes, but it did not happen!
But some other very lucky ladies did!

So I purchased it from The Frilly Funkie Boutique
(I am not being paid! I just liked her customer service and she even sent me a extra goodies! and I loved it)
Above is my quirky little guy!

Well my Embossing Paste arrived and the first thing to do was add Wendy Vecchi's Metallic Silver on to him. I really liked him silver. I thought if I added some ink over the top he would look vintage. (Wendy herself also said that) Now I had a decision to make, do I leave him? Or should I stick with the original plan?

He sat like this for a few days, because I just could not make up my mind!
Yep, still leaning and his ear is still smaller, but that is what makes him unique!

I even posted this and still could not decide.

Then last night I decided!

I am so glad I did!

I LOVE HIM!!!

He is sooooo cute Cracked!

Then I had to finish him this morning. I lost my sun from my morning picture session.
But here is my final project all done!

I cut a paper mache egg in half and covered it with Tim Holtz paper.
I tore the paper and applied it with Matte Medium, let it dry and Distress inked the egg.
I then added the Tim Holtz's Pulley's as wheels. Added some Distress Glitter Rock Candy.
Added some lace around the egg. Finished it with some eggs and flowers, straw excelsior.
I now have a bunny mobile!

So everything I did here, was all new to me! I had never used Paperclay, never used Wendy's Pastes and I never have made a bunny mobile! I think it all came together quite well and I see more animals coming out of paperclay and Wendy's embossing pastes!

So.......Go try something NEW, you might like it!

Thanks for stopping by!
