Canvas Corp Challenge-Make something with Fabric!

Challenge is on.......!

I took a Canvas Corp canvas fabric sheet like this one
 You can buy that HERE!
I cut it into a 13" X 18" piece

I then cut out a paper shaped pumpkin
Used crayons to trace the pumpkin on. You could just draw straight onto the fabric if you would like!
Using Americana-Deco Art paints I painted the pumpkin and stem
I stamped Happy Fall using foam stamps and paint
Here is where you can get creative. I took a black Pitt pen and started to doodle, added some glitter and just had fun adding squiggly lines around the letters and pumpkin!
I frayed the sides a bit then I just ran a straight stitch up each side. Folded over about 2" and sew straight across the top. Also I added some felt leaves for fun!
You could add a dowel rod and hang this on your door or inside the house. I just happened to have one of these flag holders handy and thought I could hang it on it for pictures!
I tied a bit of Raffia to the flag holder just to give it a extra pop of autumn flavor. (whats fall without raffia)

I hope you liked my project with fabric! Make sure you head over to the Canvas Corp Blog for more inspiration!

Western Tote with Canvas Corp!

Hi Y'all, just had to say it!

I received this Boots and Saddle Canvas panel from Canvas Corp and decided to try something different! I did not want to use it in a layout or paint it. I let it sit and I waited till I came up with something.

So what I decided to do was embroider parts of the panel with embroidery floss. Nothing spectacular but not scrapbook related! I decided I would highlight some of the images by embroidering them. Nothing to hard, just a straight stitch.
 You will need:
1 Panel of the Boots and Saddle                   Needle
1 yard of fabric                                          Sewing Machine
Embroidery floss                                         Thread
Hoop                                                          Pins

 1. Embroider your panel. Use the color that coordinates with your fabric choice. I chose to do the skull, feather, cowgirls rope, pottery and the two designs.
Close up of skull
2. Cut one 3" piece of fabric for the side of panel and stitch together
3. Cut one 3" piece for bottom of panel and stitch-now your front panel should measure approximately 15" X 17". Cut three more panels out of fabric that measure 15" X 17".
4. Sew lining fabric right sides together on three sides (2 sides and the bottom). Now take your panel piece and back piece right sides together and stitch together on three sides (2 sides and the bottom)
5. Pinch bottom corner together and stitch across - 1 1/2" from top corner. (see above photo) Repeat on all four corners.
6. Cut two 4" X 22" piece of fabric for handles. Fold in half right sides together and stitch the open   side, leaving both ends open. Repeat for other handle. Turn right side out and iron flat.

7. Place lining fabric inside of outside fabric (panel piece) with right sides together.  Place straps in     between right sides of fabric on each side, 3" from side edge. Pin in place-sew about 1/2" from the     edge of bag leaving a 3" opening for turning.

8. Turn the bag right side out and iron it flat and tuck in the opening that was left open for turning.   Pin it shut and top stitch around top of bag.

It's reversible!!!!

Handmade invites

When was the last time you made your own invitations?

With the invention of online events, digital invites or a simple text message “come to our party,” the art of the invite has been put on the back burner and we think that is just a shame.  Your invitation is the introduction to your event and sets the tone and and can be as elaborate or simple as you would like.

Like a scrapbook page or handmade card you can use the same supplies, tools and techniques to create your invitations, allowing you to show off your personal style.  Invites are traditionally created in multiples and taking advantage of the wide range of scrapbooking and crafting tools allows making many that look alike nice and easy, but don’t be afraid to get more elaborate.  The nice part about making your own invitations is the choice is yours.

The anatomy of a good invite includes a great front presentation, information about the event and a way to contact you with questions or to RSVP.  It is that simple.  So creating a custom invite to coordinate with you event is just what the doctor ordered.

Here is my Dinner invitation..................
I love how this came together.

Officially a Crew Member!

Today is the day of the unveiling of the 2015 Canvas Corp Brands Creative Crew. Each member was asked to submit a 4" X 4"canvas, designed by them, that shows who they are as a designer.

I am a Creative Crew member!

It is a BIG crew, so much Talent!!!

This is my canvas! I love how it turned out! It looks rusty and old and recycled! That is what I was going for! This canvas is made up of vintage watch parts, vintage key, vintage lace and recycled cardboard and paper. I used the 4 X 4 canvas from Canvas Corp and the Canvas for the tattered flower. I painted and stained the canvas and the paper to make it look vintage and rusty. Then some splatter to finish it off.

Make sure you go take a look at all of the 4 X 4's at the Canvas Corp Brand Blog, you won't be disappointed! You can even vote for your favorite! But like I said....so much talent and you can only vote ONCE!

Thanks for stopping by!
Leave me a message let me know how I did!
I would love it!!!!

Happy Valentines Day!

Random Love

Random Love!

Hi All!
Bet you thought I was lost forever!
First Christmas, I was off to CHA next, came home for 5 days and off to Minnesota to see family and now I am home and ready to start the new year! I know it's February! But I have to start somewhere! LOL!

First I have been holding out on you!
Yes, its true! I have had a secret............!

I am now a member of a new DT! Canvas Corp Brands has asked me to be a Crew Member!
I was am so excited!
Our first mission was to create a card and envelope for Valentines day and send or give it to someone who is not expecting it. So What I choose to do is............................
Not send it to anyone, but drop it in a random place for someone to find it!

This is why I call it Random Love!

This world needs more LOVE! The headlines have been horrible and if just one person sends some Random Love and then that person gives a smile to someone and then that person buys someone a coffee....so on and so on. This one piece could effect more then just one! Wouldn't that be great?
So if you live in Colorado, you just might see this laying around waiting to be found!
